Accolent ERP equipment rental software includes comprehensive functionality for businesses that offer short-term equipment rentals. In keeping with FAS13 (ASC 840) and US GAAP, Accolent ERP accounts for short-term equipment rentals as operating leases in which the lessor retains legal and accounting ownership of the rental equipment. Rental equipment items are treated as fixed assets on the lessor’s Balance Sheet and costs are recorded periodically through depreciation expense.
Rental Products Status Screen
On one screen, see all rental items showing the quantity by status of Available or On-Rental. Drill down into On-Rental items to see the customer, details of the current rental, and expected return-by date and time. For each product easily access the whole history of all rental transactions.
Rental Products may Be Serialized or Not Serialized
Large equipment rental items would typically be serialized, but do not have to be. Each serialized equipment rental item has a full ledger card detailing all transactions in and out, of that serialized rental item. Smaller items of rental equipment that are rented in quantity, such as fence panels or scaffolding, may be serialized but need not be, if recording serial numbers would be too onerous.
Equipment Rentals by the Day or by the Hour
Accolent ERP equipment rental software accommodates rentals by the day or by the hour. Configurable settings specify rental hours per day and whether to count by Business Day or by Calendar Day. Easily add Quantity Break tables to discount pricing for longer rental periods. Automatically charge for an additional day if rental equipment comes back after the return-by time or add a late fee.
